Why I became an NLP coach + get my clients the best results

This is another post from 2020 when I was a bright and shiny new coach and entrepreneur. *la sigh* I am so proud of how far I've come and how grounded I am in this work. Enjoy!

Here’s the tea,
I’ve always had this natural ability to connect with people. I have this innate ability to make people feel comfortable and safe with me within seconds of meeting me. I thought it was strange when I was young, and older people would share way too much, but I now know that’s my superpower.

As a teenager, I had my heart set on becoming a therapist, specifically one specializing in marriage and family. I was thrilled when I was given the chance to meet with a licensed therapist to learn more about the industry, education, and what a day in life looked like. And I was crushed when that therapist spent our time together talking me out of my dream.

Like most of us, I’ve pursued becoming the best version of myself on some level my whole life. But it wasn’t until about five years ago that I made it a conscious, active part of my lifestyle. And it wasn’t until I became familiar with NLP, EFT, and Hypnosis that I realized my dream had not been crushed; it had just been relabelled.

These tools have been game-changers in my life. And I know that it’s my purpose

You see, my superpower is a unique combination of connecting with others on a deep level and an eloquent and effortless communication style. *Which is probably why my backup plan became Marketing*

So, let’s breakdown what the heck these things are:

Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)

To simplify, NLP is how we use the language of our mind to consistently achieve the results we want in life.

To break it down:

Neuro refers to our nervous system, which consists of the five senses we use to experience the world: sight, hearing, feeling, smell, and taste.

Linguistics is the language or communication methods we use to give meaning to experiences and store them in our minds. Think of any mental picture you have, sounds, smells, or tastes you can think of, and your inner dialogue (self-talk).

Programming is the patterns and strategies we run to achieve our goals.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

This is a therapy technique that is based on acupuncture and acupressure. It uses the same energy meridians in the body to release physical, emotional, and mental issues.

Anytime you are experiencing low energy, discomfort, or negative or limiting thoughts, it is simply your body’s way of letting you know there is an imbalance in its energetic system.

Using EFT, we allow your energy system to balance its flow to relieve whatever the issue may be by tapping on the same points used in acupuncture.

The mantra for EFT is "Try it on everything." It can help with physical ailments like headaches or cramps, emotional blockages limiting emotions, and more. It Is powerful to tap on the goals you have not yet received to break through the resistance around them.

EFT is a tool that works with persistence, so bring EFT into your daily life as a habit.

T.I.M.E. Technique

Time Integration for Maximum Empowerment

This technique combines the conscious and subconscious minds to create a powerful shift.

The T.I.M.E. technique is powerful because it allows you to release things from the past without associating with them or consciously remembering the root cause.

It’s commonly used to:

  • Eliminate specific problems rooted in the past or future

  • Release negative emotions (i.e., anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt)

  • Undo the root cause of limiting beliefs and other problems

  • Program the future for success

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a powerful way to connect to the subconscious mind and reprogram our thoughts, behaviours, and actions.

Did you know that up to the age of 7, we are in a state of super-learning to learn how to live in the world? Our brainwave states exist between the Alpha and Theta states; thus, in these early years of life, we are in a constant state of hypnosis.

As we age, our reasoning faculty is formed as our pre-frontal cortex evolves. This is how we become rational beings with a conscious mind.

We had very little choice over what was programmed into our minds at a young age. Our values, beliefs, and ways of being were instilled by our parents, our environment, the institutions that surrounded us, and even the media.

With hypnosis, we have a tool to take our power back and regain control over our subconscious thoughts, habits, and behaviours so that we can have our subconscious minds working for us toward what we want to be, do, have and experience, rather than what we don’t.

By getting our conscious mind into a calm and relaxed state, we can bypass the conscious mind and speak directly to the subconscious, where we can reprogram it.

Life and Success Coaching

Coaching is a relationship in which the coach helps the client achieve their goals, visions, and dreams. The job of a success coach is to help the client help themselves.

Coaching is:

  • Outcome-Oriented and Solution Focused

  • Giving Clear, Direct Feedback

  • A Productive Relationship

  • Long-Lasting Results

  • Leveraging Personal Resources

These tools I bring to the table help my clients get to the root of what is stopping them from achieving their goals and creating the fabulous life they are meant to live. It helps them to get out of their way.

And it happens faster.
